Is Deadlock still invite-only?

Yes. As of 8 November 2026, Deadlock is still an invite-only playtest. You can't buy it on Steam, and there is no open sign-up: a Steam friend who has the game has to invite you. That friend can be anyone, and today the invite arrives within minutes.

How you get in

  1. 1
Someone who has Deadlock adds you as a Steam friend.
  2. 2
They invite you from the game's Invite your Friends menu.
  3. 3
Valve's invite arrives as a message in your Steam chat with them. Accept it, and Deadlock is in your library.

Your Steam account can't be limited: it needs to have spent $5 on Steam. See limited accounts.

If you don't know anyone who has it

Invite Frog is a Steam account that invites everyone who adds it, day and night. It has sent 8,416 invites so far, and Valve's invite usually arrives within 1m 56s.

Is it hard to get in?
