How to move and resize the Deadlock HUD

Deadlock's settings can't move or resize individual HUD elements (the closest is Inset HUD for 21x9, which keeps the HUD nearer the centre on ultrawide screens). UI Kit adds an editor to the game: drag any part of the HUD where you want it, make it bigger or smaller, or hide it, while you play.

Move a HUD part

Esc, then UI Kit: every HUD part gets an outline to drag; the panel lists them all.
  1. 1
  2. 2
Start a match. Hero Testing is best: you can test damage, death and level ups to see every part.
  3. 3
Press Esc and choose UI Kit. Every part of the HUD gets an outline.
  4. 4
Drag an outline. It snaps to the screen edges, the centre and other parts. W A S D nudges it, Shift for bigger steps.
  5. 5
Press Done. Your layout is saved and comes back every match.

Resize or hide parts

  • Drag a part's corner, or pick it in the panel's Layers list and set its size.
  • The eye in the Layers list hides a part you never look at.
  • The HUD tab scales the whole HUD at once, and has the 4:3 stretch fix.
  • The Test tab shows damage, death, a level up and more on demand, so you can place parts you rarely see.
The game's own HUD, rearranged with UI Kit.

A whole new look

UI Kit comes with themes and add-ons, switched on in Settings, UI Kit: Arena (a clean hero-shooter HUD), Retro Terminal, Health squares, Colour Assist for colour blindness, Big Text and Alerts. You can move a theme's parts the same way.

The Arena theme: health as squares, abilities as white tiles, a compact top bar.
Retro Terminal: the whole HUD as a green-phosphor terminal.

  3. 3
