Custom crosshairs in Deadlock

Deadlock's own settings let you customise its crosshair: the thickness and gaps of the lines and the centre dot, their fill and border colours, and the dot's size. If you want a different crosshair altogether, UI Kit's themes each bring their own, and an add-on puts reload and ammo cues right under it.

First: the game's own crosshair settings

For a different colour, thickness or gap, Deadlock's settings may already be enough: its crosshair options cover the lines and centre dot, their fill and border colours, and the dot's size.

A clean dot: Arena

The Arena theme replaces the crosshair with a small dot, in the hero-shooter style of the rest of its HUD.

Arena: the dot crosshair, with power-ups underneath.

A terminal +: Retro Terminal

Retro Terminal's crosshair is a plain + that shows brackets when you hit something, drawn in the theme's phosphor colour (green, amber or cyan).

Retro Terminal: the + crosshair, with ammo as a readout under it.

Switch it on

  1. 1
  2. 2
In Deadlock, open Settings, then the UI Kit section, and switch on Arena or Retro Terminal. Use one of them at a time.
  3. 3
Prefer the game's crosshair with the theme? Each theme has a Crosshair option: set it to The game's (Esc, UI Kit, the Theme tab).

Reload and ammo cues

The Alerts add-on puts RELOAD under the crosshair when your clip is empty, and RELOADING while you reload, so you never have to look down at the ammo. An optional thin clip bar turns amber when you're almost out.

Alerts: cues around the crosshair and a red edge at low health.

Exactly in the middle

At some resolutions, 4:3 stretched especially, the crosshair can end up a few pixels off. In UI Kit, pick Crosshair & ammo in the Layers list and centre it; the editor warns you if it isn't centred.
