How to get a Deadlock invite: free, in minutes

Deadlock is still invite-only: a Steam friend who has the game has to invite you. That friend doesn't have to be someone you know. Here is every way to get an invite, the fastest one first, what your Steam account needs, and how to accept the invite once it's there.

The fastest way

Invite Frog is a Steam account that invites everyone who adds it, day and night. It has sent 2,483 invites so far and times each one.

  1. 1
Add Invite Frog on Steam: one click on the Invite Frog page, or friend code 1309877912 in Steam > Friends > Add a Friend.
  2. 2
It accepts you and sends the Deadlock invite by itself, within seconds.
  3. 3
Valve's invite shows up as a message in your Steam chat with it, usually within 2 minutes. Accept it, and Deadlock is in your library.

It's free: no password, payment, trade or sign-up, only a friend request.

The Invite Frog page times every invite as it happens: a 2-minute median and 848 invites in a day when this was taken (28 Oct 2026).

Whoever invites you, the invite itself always comes from Valve, in Steam. Nobody needs your password or a login on a website for it.

What your Steam account needs

  • It can't be limited. Steam limits accounts that haven't spent $5, and Deadlock refuses to invite them. Buying a game or adding $5 to your Steam Wallet lifts it. See limited accounts and Deadlock.
  • The invite goes to one Steam account: the one that is friends with whoever invites you. Make sure it's the account you play on.
  • If Deadlock is already in your library, you don't need an invite. Of 2,611 invites Invite Frog sent, Deadlock said 43 players (1.6%) already had it.

Your friend code

Most invite threads ask for your Steam friend code. In Steam, open Friends > Add a Friend: your friend code is at the top. Post that number, never your password or email.

Accepting the invite

  1. 1
Open your Steam chat with whoever invited you. Valve's invite is a message there: accept it.
  2. 2
No message? Look at your Steam playtest invites and accept it there.
  3. 3
Deadlock is added to your Steam library. If it's on your Steam licenses but not in your library, restart Steam.

Still nothing? Deadlock invite not showing up has every case we've seen.
